A teenage girl has died after being pulled from a river near Benalla on Saturday morning.

A teenage girl has drowned in a river near Benalla.

A teenage girl has drowned after being found in the Broken River near Benalla on Saturday morning.

Emergency services were called to a camping ground on Goulding Close after the girl was found just before 10am.

An air ambulance also took off from Bendigo Hospital heading straight to the site but the teenage girl was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner and death is not being treated as suspicious.
