Two people have been arrested following a large drug bust in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs on Friday.
A commercial quantity of methamphetamine, 1,4-butanediol, Various quantities of ketamine, cocaine and prescription drugs and $40,000 in cash were seized at a property in Box Hill.
A 34-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman from Burwood have been arrested and charged with trafficking a commercial quantity of drugs, handling stolen goods and possession of proceeds of crime.
Detective Senior Sergeant Sean Audley has said stressed the importance of ongoing enforcement as drug-related offences often lead to a rise in other types of crime.
“By taking such a large quantity of illicit substances off the streets, we are making a significant impact on disrupting alleged drug trafficking in the area,” he said.
They have been placed into remand and will appear at a Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on December 5.
