How NSW and Victoria’s roadmaps out of lockdown compare

NSW and Victoria have two very different paths out of lockdown, with these freedoms noticeably missing from our exit plan.

Victoria’s roadmap offers only a fraction of the freedoms that fully vaccinated people in NSW will get once their state reaches the 70 per cent double dose target.

RETAIL

VIC: Non-essential retail open outdoors only

NSW: Shops reopen to vaccinated people, one person per 4sq m

NSW: Open one person per 4sq m

NSW: Masks compulsory indoors, only hospitality staff have to wear a mask when outdoors

WEDDINGS

VIC: Fully vaccinated outdoors only up to 50 people with one person per 4sq m

NSW: Up to 50 guests. Eating and drinking only while sitting. Dancing allowed

VIC: Up to 150 fully vaccinated people indoors, one person per 4sq m, and up to 500 people outdoors, one person per 2sq m

NSW: One person per 4sq m (uncapped). Eating and drinking allowed while standing. Dancing allowed

VIC: Stadiums, cinemas closed. Outdoor entertainment venues open to 50 fully vaccinated people, with one person per sq m

NSW: Indoor cinemas, theatres, music halls open one person per 4sq m or 75 per cent of fixed seats. Outdoor stadiums open one person per 4sq m, capped at 5000 people

80 per cent

VIC: Stadiums open lesser of 25 per cent or 5000 per venue (or by exemption). Indoor seated entertainment venues (such as cinemas) open to 150 people, with one person per 4sq m

NSW: Stadiums, cinemas, theatres music halls open one person 4sq m or 75 per cent fixed seated capacity. Stadiums capped at 5000 people (or by exemption)

NSW: None

HOME VISITS

VIC: No visitors

NSW: Five vaccinated visitors (not including children 12 and under)

VIC: 10 visitors to a home, including dependants

VIC: 10 vaccinated people outdoors
