Fire crews tackle suspicious blaze at St Albans home in early hours

Police are investigating a suspicious fire at a property in Melbourne’s northwest which broke out early on Saturday morning.

Police are investigating a suspicious fire at a vacant property in St Albans which broke out early on Saturday morning.

Emergency services were called to reports of the fire at the vacant property on Andrew Rd about 3.30am.

Firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes to find the single-storey brick and tile house fully alight.

Firefighters extinguished the fire and there have been no reports of injuries.

The exact circumstances surrounding the matter are yet to be determined but the fire is believed to be suspicious.
