An unemployed 41-year-old man who failed to sell $60 worth of cannabis has been labelled “the world’s worst drug dealer” by a magistrate.

An unemployed 41-year-old man who failed to sell $60 worth of cannabis has been labelled “the world’s worst drug dealer” by a magistrate.

Jason John Vicary pleaded guilty to attempting to supply cannabis as well as being in the possession of a clip seal bag used in the connection of an administration of a dangerous drug.

Police prosecutor Jordan Theed said on July 1 police executed a search warrant and Vicary provided police with his mobile phone.

Police discovered a message on Vicary’s phone which said “do you know anyone wanting to buy pot, got $50-60 to sell urgently”.

Duty Lawyer Tracy Brown, said her client was educated to year 12 and had three degrees.

“He has obtained three bachelor degrees, one in music, one in digital media and one in media science,” Ms Brown said.

“He’s unemployed and has mainly studied throughout his life.

“In relation to the supply, he attempted to sell the cannabis because he said he needed the money,” she said.

Magistrate Ross Mack said Vicary needed to assess his life.

“You’re the world’s worst drug dealer. At some point you have to assess your life, it’s a pretty grim look in the rear view mirror and you need to do something about it,” Mr Mack said.

“Here you are getting lectured by a bloke you don’t know about your lifestyle.

“You must be an intelligent man, you got three degrees and you got a $3000 car. I mean, they are not going to write books about this are they?

“It’s time to assess what you are doing before it’s too late,” he said.

Mr Mack fined Vicary for both drug offences and a conviction was recorded.
