Two charged with torture and assault of woman with hammer and multi-tool
Two men have been charged with allegedly torturing a woman with a hammer and other items in the early hours of the morning.

Two men have been charged with torturing a woman who was allegedly assaulted with a hammer by in a 45-minute ordeal.
The 34-year-old woman was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital where she is in a stable condition with head injuries and a large laceration to her leg. Her hair was also cut.
Queensland Police were called to a hotel in Surfers Paradise about 1.50am on Friday where the woman was.
Following investigations, police attended a unit complex in Trickett Street and took two men into custody.
Police will allege the men, who are known to the woman, assaulted her with a hammer, cut her leg with a knife and used a multi-tool to cut her hair.
A 36-year-old man from Mareeba and 40-year-old man from Surfers Paradise have both been charged with one count each of torture, wounding, assault occasioning bodily harm and deprivation of liberty.
They are expected to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court later on Friday.
