A WOMAN narrowly escaped injury when her car flipped after colliding with another on a busy Townsville road.
A Suzuki Ignis and Mazda hatchback were involved in a crash shortly after 11am on Sunday at the corner of University Drive and Annandale road.
It’s unclear what led to the crash which led the Suzuki to flip on its side in the middle of the busy road and crash head on with the Mazda. There was significant damage to the front of both cars.
Paramedics treated two people on scene before transporting them in a stable condition to Townsville University Hospital.
A Queensland Police spokesman said the incident caused all south bound lanes to be shut and traffic to be diverted while the road was cleared of glass and debris and vehicles removed.
All lanes were open to traffic shortly after midday.
