HAVING fun while raising much needed funds for bushfire relief is at the heart of Ultimate Results Training’s charity bootcamp this Saturday.
Gym manager Melissa Booth said the bootcamp would start at 7am and would support three local charities.
“We have had input from our clients so we have made sure we have covered all bases and we are going to support the Queensland Rural Fire Service, RSPCA Queensland and Givit,” she said.
“On the day our clients will be able to pick an option that they want to donate to and based on what they select we will divvy it up accordingly.”
The bootcamp is tailored for any fitness level and will include easy and fun movements like saddle rolls, boxing and bell work.
The morning will feature raffles, face painting for kids, a bacon and egg breakfast and Feel Good Foodie with all proceeds donated to the three charities.
Members of the gym have also been busy baking home-cooked healthy treats to sell on the day.
Along with the fundraising efforts, the owners will donate $5 towards the charities for every new person that comes along to the camp.
Ms Booth said the gym valued its ability to make a difference in a time of need.
“I think it is important that we are in a position to have a lot of people in one spot at one time and it is just nice to be able to give back to the community,” she said.
“Especially being up in Townsville having the floods last year and being so far away from the fires, it feels good to know that we are actually helping.”
Ms Booth said she would be happy if the bootcamp raised $1500.
