Women across Townsville have been rushing to book into their favourite beauty salons this weekend as the State Government eases coronavirus restrictions.

Now one salon has been forced to extend its business hours.

Sole trader Jessica Bagley, owner of Beautilicious by Jessica, said her phone was ringing off the hook on Friday as customers bombarded her for appointments.

The Mount Louisa mother of three is now booked out on Saturday and Monday, with almost all appointments this week taken.

Salons were closed on March 25 when the Federal Government implemented Stage 2 restrictions to curb the coronavirus outbreak.

Ms Bagley said the closure of her salon was financially challenging but she used the time to spruce up her home-based business.

“I’ve just been doing little maintenance things with the salon,” she said.

Ms Bagley said she did not receive any financial support until last week so was grateful to hear the news she would be able to open again.

She offers waxing, tinting, eyelash extensions and tanning, and can package treatments to reduce costs.
