A woman needed to be hospitalised after she was bucked off a horse while mustering cattle in North Queensland.

On Friday, April 3, the Mount Isa-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter airlifted the woman from a private property north east of Mount Isa.

It is understood the woman was flung over the top of the horse, causing her to land on her head and knocking her unconscious for a short period of time.

A Queensland Ambulance Service crew arrived shortly after the rescue helicopter and helped treat her.

The woman, in her 20s, was flown to Mount Isa Hospital in a stable condition.
