A woman has been charged after a man was allegedly stabbed in the neck during an incident in Charters Towers.
Detectives have charged a woman in relation to an alleged assault at Pentland around 3am on Thursday.
Police will allege that an altercation occurred between a man and a woman, who are known to each other, at a private residence.
It will be further alleged during the altercation the man suffered a laceration to his neck.
Paramedics transported a 47-year-old man to Charters Towers Hospital with “life-threatening wounds” to his neck, according to Queensland Ambulance Services.
Police arrested a 37-year-old woman at the scene and has been charged with one count each of wounding (domestic violence) and assault occasioning bodily harm.
She is expected to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on Thursday afternoon.
The 47-year-old man remains in the Townsville University Hospital in a stable condition.
