Self-isolation coffee tips and tricks

Townsville barista Ryan Toleman is on a mission to teach people how to brew the best cup of coffee in self isolation.

Mr Toleman said brewing good coffee at home required minimal skill and equipment – just hot water, ground coffee beans and a stovetop espresso maker.

“You don’t need to drop hundreds of bucks on a set up to brew coffee at home,” he said.

“You can buy a stovetop (espresso maker) from an op shop. The gear doesn’t matter, it is the quality of the product that you are working with.”

Mr Toleman said he started his day with three back-to-back espressos

“I am remaining super positive. And if coffee is the thing that gets you through it, then I hope I can be some help for that.”
