Townsville Taxis partners with 13cabs, offering more services during COVID-19 pandemic

A new partnership with a national company has meant there’s a new way to call in a cab. Here’s everything you need to know.

A NEW partnership with a national company will bring in new-look cabs and open up job opportunities.

Townsville Taxis has teamed up with 13cabs and is offering extra services during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Townsville is growing all the time and the need for more transport options is well and truly here, so we’re excited to be partnering with the likes of 13cabs because it means we’ll be able to better service the community and help get locals from A to B, wherever they need to go in town,” Townsville Taxis chairman Jeff Finnigan said.

“By tapping into the incredible resources of a national company, we’re able to give people more convenient ways to book while retaining our existing workforce of local drivers who know the town like the back of their hand. It’s a win-win for the community and the economy here in Townsville.”

13cabs will be offering contactless deliveries of food, parcels and medical supplies during the pandemic.

Townsville Taxis’ new partnership will mean all of its 127 cabs will have 13cabs branding.

13cabs Queensland general manager Matt McLachlan said the Townsville taxi service would benefit from its app.

“We’re proud to provide locals access to Australia’s most recognised taxi brand and, in turn, our world-class technology and safety systems,” Mr McLachlan said.

From today people can call up a cab by using the 13cabs app or phoning 13 22 27.

The company is also hiring new drivers.
