After a long wait Townsville residents will be able to tuck into a parmy and beer with two pubs reopening tomorrow.
Australian Venue Co’s Hotel Allen and Tom’s Tavern will be among 11 venues opening in North Queensland.
While the hotels will reopen, they will only be able to sit 10 people dining in.
Under current COVID-19 restrictions, pubs, cafes and restaurants can open but bars and gaming will still be shut off.
The Royal Hotel and Mansfield Hotel, also part of the group, will reopen once Stage 3 of the State Government’s road map is in place, allowing up to 100 in the venue.

To celebrate, AVC is offering special packages to customers heading back through the doors.
AVC state manager Scott Brydson said there would be an increased focus on safety for customers with new safe socialising standards, including spaced tables and reduced capacity.
“The last couple of months have been catastrophic for the hospitality industry but we are proud to be part of an industry which has proved itself to be resilient, supportive and as hard working as ever at this difficult time,” he said.
“We are so pleased to be reopening our venues to the public again and to be able to reconnect with our loyal customers.
“While it will be a ‘new normal’, it will be great for people to be able to enjoy and drink and a meal at their local again.”
Hotel Allen will also once again be offering accommodation for visitors.
