News of Townsville possibly scoring a clash between Crystal Palace and Brisbane Roar has excited the city’s football fans.
Queensland is tipped to get more than $1 billion worth of Premier League talent if Crystal Palace and West Ham venture to its shores.
Townsville is expected to host the Roar versus Palace match, which is winning over the attention of city Premier League fans.
Ross Pettigrew, a Liverpool fan, said the Premier League was the creme de la creme of football as its named suggested.

“I don’t think people comprehend how big this is,” he said. “I’m pretty sure it’s been voted the premier league in the world. A team coming 12th in that competition, which is Crystal Palace, is incredible.”
Mr Pettigrew went to the Elton John concert on Saturday at Queensland Country Bank Stadium and was impressed with the facility.
“I was overawed, I was very impressed,” he said.
While no Crystal Palace fan, Michael Drogemuller said he will be buying tickets if the city locks in the match.
