Mother’s Day last year was spent watching her twins on life support but 12 months on this Townsville mum has a lot to celebrate.

Born three months prematurely, Tara Runde said anything was an amazing moment to celebrate in comparison to seeing twin boys Vincent and Reuben on life support in a neonatal intensive care unit.

“You can’t get much better than this. We’ve got three beautiful children and I couldn’t be happier,”

Now happy, healthy one-year-olds, Mrs Runde said she had her hands full with twins and didn’t shy away from the messiness of motherhood because it was all part of journey.

She said being a mum was probably the hardest thing and the best thing in life.

“Twins is not double the work, it’s like quadruple the work,” Mrs Runde said.

“It is so hard but I think we’re all better for it – they are such a joy.

“Motherhood in general is a huge challenge and I’m learning everyday but I couldn’t ask for a greater joy.”
