A young man alleged to have stolen a car and caravan with a family still inside has appeared in a Townsville court for the first time since being charged.
Police allege that on August 19 just after 9pm, Matt Andrew Dunn stole the vehicle with a family that included three young children still inside while they were staying at Allen Terry Caravan Park.
The 18-year-old has been charged with five counts of deprivation of liberty, two counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle and one count each of possessing explosives, driving without a licence, entering a dwelling, entering a premises to commit an offence, possessing weapons, unlawful use of vehicle intended for an indictable offence and wilful damage.
On Thursday morning in Townsville Magistrates Court a defence lawyer from Legal Aid Queensland said Mr Dunn would not be applying for bail.
He also did not appear in the courtroom himself or via video link.
Magistrate Vivian Keegan adjourned the charges to October 1 in Townsville Magistrates Court, Mr Dunn was remanded in custody.
