Border restrictions: State-by-state lockdowns explained

Queensland Health staff will be at the Townsville Airport to screen people arriving for coronavirus in the lead up to the Jeff Horn versus Tim Tszyu fight.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk urged people attending the fight tomorrow night, which is expected to draw in more than 10,000, to take care.

She said health staff would screen arrivals at the airport “just to check that they have no symptoms”.

“This is because we have a large number of people from Indigenous communities that are coming to the fight, it is very important that no one goes to the … fight if you have any symptoms,” she said.

“We are putting in the extra level of precaution just to make sure that everyone is safe at that event.”

Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young asked health professionals to meet each flight arriving.

She said the risk of someone carrying COVID-19 up to Townsville was “very, very, very low”.

Palm Island Aboriginal Shire Council has put on an extra ferry to carry over residents to watch Patrick Clarke take on Horn’s brother, Ben.

No new cases of coronavirus were recorded overnight.
