People have been invited to get involved and decorate their homes to create Stable on the Streets – a suburb wide Christmas celebration.
Organiser Richard Hosking said three classic scenes, including the nativity scene with Mary, Joseph and Jesus, shepherds minding their sheep and the three wise men with their camels would feature as the main displays.
In between the displays, five “discovery trails” featuring homes, businesses and churches will complete the display. Mr Hosking asked people to get creative and decorate their (drive way, shop front, car, veranda or street.
“It can be some little scene that will demonstrate Christmas or they can go all out and light a stable in their front yard,” Mr Hosking said.
Stable on the Streets is planned to run from December 18 to 22, 6-9pm each night. It is planned buses will be able to drive people those who cannot get around themselves.
Carol services and food carts will also feature in the festivities.
To get involved, contact the Stable on The Strand Facebook page or administrator Clare Leo 0411 756 273.
