“Thank you to the two ladies at Jezzine Barracks (on Wednesday) who were riding the scooters and showed much love and help when my little girl got bitten by a snake on the footpath at the park entrance,” she wrote on social media.

“You were straight on the phone to emergency, you were hunting the snake to take photos all the while feeding us first aid through the phone.”

Ms Fitzgerald said her daughter was bitten by a small dark brown snake.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the toddler had clear bite marks and was taken to Townsville University Hospital in a stable condition but could not confirm what snake had bitten her.

Pictures showed two clear fang marks on the girl’s right foot.

The young girl was discharged from hospital on Wednesday.

Ms Everest said she was simply in the right place at the right time to help.

“I did what I hope anyone would do in the same position. I’m happy to hear the young girl is recovering well,” she said.
