Broken vases, popped balloons, and a baseball bat is all that remains at the roadside memorial site of where four young teens were killed in a crash recently.

The corner of Bayswater Road and Nathan Street became a place of mourning for family, friends and community members who were left shocked to their core, after three girls and one boy were killed in a horrific crash last week.

The 14-year-old driver was the sole survivor after the car they were travelling in clipped a roundabout, rolled and hit a light pole.

Today, broken vases, popped balloons, flowers, and dozens of messages of support have been left scattered across the pathway where the make shift memorial was set up.

Belgian Gardens resident Lynette Trezona reported the damage saying it was clear that someone had taken to the site and that the recent wet weather wasn’t to blame.

She said she’s visited the site many times to pay respects and noticed photos of the victims have also been removed.

A baseball bat was also found lying next to the broken items.

“It’s definitely been vandalised, I’ve been down by here a few times actually,” Ms Trezona said.

“It’s very sad that four children have lost their life and another young person will have to live with it for the rest of his.”

Ms Trezona said regardless of any circumstances behind what caused the crash, there was no excuse for the ‘heartless act’.

“It’s so hard to believe that anyone would want to trash it, I mean what’s their motivation?” she said.

“I’ve been by several times since it’s happened and there’s always been people there with their heads bowed in sorrow.”
