The global sensation has built a fervent following for its captivating and carefully crafted talks.
The event will be held on October 17 at DanceNorth, thanks to a formidable lawyer who has turned her passion for the power of language into a full-time job.
Now a communication coach based at Pimlico State High School and a TEDx licensee, Joanne Keune said communication had the ability to isolate a person, or elevate them depending on how they delivered their message.

She said helping students find their voice made her realise that the skill was in high demand, and not just for children.
“One could be a lawyer all day but in this short little life I’d rather be sharing it and training young people,” Ms Keune said.
“Communication is hard. You can get by if you can’t add up, you can get by if you can’t spell, but you cannot get by if you cannot speak and it is that 21st century skill.”
Ms Keune said communication was at the heart of meaningful connections. “I work with CEOs and even the best will come along and think they can’t learn anything and then realise the structure of their speech is completely wrong and the personal story that binds a speech is missing,” she said.
The licence was initially intended for the benefit of Pimlico State High students but, due to high public demand and the sponsorship from CQUniversity, it’s grown to be something the wider community can be involved in.
