A stolen Toyota LandCruiser four-wheel-drive was found burning by firefighters.
Rural firefighters were called to the blaze at Majors Creek, south of Townsville, about 7.30pm on Friday.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said firefighters initially did not know it was a vehicle on fire until they arrived on scene.
She said no one was at the scene where the LandCruiser was burning, near Cook Rd, when crews arrived.
The fire was extinguished shortly after.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman confirmed the LandCruiser had been stolen and officers were investigating the crime.
