It takes 65 churches and 1000 volunteers to bring Bethlehem to life every year at Stable on the Strand.
Colleen Forman has been one of those volunteers for 15 years donating her time to cutting out more than 40,000 stars and fish.
Ms Forman said she cherished the role she played in the yearly event.
“I cut out 3000 stars and 150 sheets of six fish on a card every year,” she said.
“People can have something to enjoy like on the star people can write a question or a wish and on the fish people can say a little prayer.”
Ms Forman said cutting out the stars and fish took “weeks and weeks” but loved helping out.
“I enjoy it every year and I never say no,” she said.
Stable on the Strand president Anne Harley said Ms Forman’s determination to contribute was unwavering.
“Colleen is gifted with her hands but she used to cut out the fish and stars in such a hurry she would get blisters on her hands,” she said.
“She would just get into it and do it.”
Ms Harley said Ms Forman was an asset to the five day event.
“We say there is a job for everybody and there is a job in the area that you are good at and Colleen is very valuable part of Stable on the Strand.”
Stable on the Strand is a free event and runs from December 16 – 22.
