Tortured family members are praying for the safe return of a missing 22-year-old man as the intensive search for him on Magnetic Island is scaled back.
Ben Chisholm has been missing since Wednesday, 13 July, in Nelly Bay on Magnetic Island, where he was last seen walking towards the Arcadia walking trails.
Acting Inspector Mark Camilleri confirmed the search for him on the island had been scaled back after almost two weeks, with less than 10 volunteers from the State Emergency Service on the ground on Monday.
“Search efforts have been scaled back with minimal resources, with a focus on investigative outcomes as the search for Ben Chisholm continues on Magnetic Island,” he said.
“Police and family hold concerns for his welfare given the duration of his disappearance.”
Mr Chisholm’s aunt Kaylene Bell said their family will never give up hope for Ben coming home.
Mr Chisholm has not been in contact with his family since last Wednesday.
The behaviour is considered out of character by those close to him, and his family have expressed concerns for his wellbeing.
Ben is described as caucasian in appearance, about 170cm tall, medium build and long, light-brown hair.
He was dressed in shorts and a dark green long-sleeved pullover. Investigators urge Ben, or anyone with information of his whereabouts, to contact police.
