Rock dropping and hunting is the ultimate hide and seek that has taken off in Townsville, getting children to explore the great outdoors and share kind words.
The phenomenon started in America where people seek out flat stones to paint a nice picture or some words of wisdom on one side.
The rocks are dropped or hidden in parks to be found by kids, who re-hide the rocks to be found again.

It has only been in the last eight months that Townsville has seen a surge in the international obsession with the creation of TSV Rocks Facebook group.
Administrator Retika Gill started the group last June just for her friends.
Ms Gill said she couldn’t believe the traction the group had received, including gaining 1000 new members in the past 30 days.
The group’s Facebook feed is filled with posts thanking people for their nice words and saying how much kids enjoyed painting and finding the rocks.
The group has facilitated new friendships in Townsville with members organising “rock painting parties” or “rock hunting expeditions”.
