The council closed the pools to slow the spread of COVID-19 in March.
Each pool will have its own plan to ensure appropriate distancing, so members of the public are encouraged to call before swimming.
The Riverway Lagoons and Rockpool on The Strand will remain closed until either a COVID Safe Plan is approved or stage 2 of the easing of restrictions on Saturday, June 13.
“We have done a fantastic job slowing the spread of COVID-19 in our community, however we cannot afford to become complacent,” Cr Soars said.
“I urge the Townsville community to keep maintaining social distancing and enhanced hygiene practices and if you’re feeling sick stay home and call 13 HEALTH or your doctor for advice.”
