A Townsville school principal will be remembered by her laughter and smile by teachers and students.

A Townsville school principal will be remembered for her laughter and smile by teachers and students.

Claudine Moncur-White, the principal of Rasmussen State School, died of cancer on September 28, aged 53.

In a eulogy, her husband Frans said Claudine was passionate about helping students at the primary school succeed.

He said she greeted students and parents at the school gate each morning and afternoon.

“She didn’t do it because it was her job, she did it because it was her passion,” he said.

“Besides us and her family she had two passions, one being Rasmussen and the other being her doctorate (in education).”

Frans said Claudine was determined in everything she did and brought joy with her laughter wherever she went.

“For me, Claudine was the most beautiful … gorgeous, amazing person,” he said.

Rasmussen State School published a tribute to Claudine on social media.

“Claudine’s passion for reading and encouraging young children and their families will be as well remembered as her effervescent laughter and beaming smile,” it said.

“We will miss you Claudine, and we will always remember you.”

Claudine passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones.

She was loved by daughters Chene and Tenielle, and parents Wim and Coby.

Her family requested no flowers at her funeral yesterday and instead asked for donations to towards pancreatic cancer research at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research.
