A man who is facing charges in the higher courts has appeared before a Townsville magistrate again, but this time for an unrelated charge.
Peter Jason Cafe fronted the Townsville Magistrates Court on Monday, where he was seen playing games on his tablet while waiting for his matter to be heard.
He is now facing a new charge of possessing a knife in a public place.
No plea has been entered.
Magistrate Cathy McLennan said the alleged knife offence occurred on June 6 and was unrelated to the ongoing charges Mr Cafe faces in the Townsville District Court.
Mr Cafe was represented by Legal Aid lawyer Kayla Doig, who requested an adjournment to allow time to consult with his district court legal team.
The matter was adjourned to August 12.
