Townsville’s Irish ninja, Paul Culloty, has swung through to the semi-finals of Australian Ninja Warrior, despite landing in the drink.
With a bit of Irish luck, Culloty attacked the course “150 per cent”, breezing his way through obstacles including the notorious bar-hop, which has seen many a ninja fall before him. Unfortunately, a concentration lapse on the “flying shelf grab” saw the end of him last night, just one obstacle away from tackling the Warped Wall.
“I had very mixed emotions on it but was relieved to make it to the semi-finals,” Culloty said.
“I was devastated because it was so close to the finish line because I got through some pretty hard obstacles and then maybe got a little complacent and maybe just panicked a little bit mid flight. It was just the slip of a finger.”
>>The semi-finals start on Monday at 7.30pm on Channel Nine.
