A Northern Region police officer has been stood down for ‘inappropriate behaviour’ and ‘dishonesty’.

The 39-year-old male senior constable has been stood down from official duty with the Queensland Police Service and has been tasked to perform non-operational duties.

QPS said in a statement that investigations were being conducted into allegations of inappropriate off-duty behaviour and being dishonest in an interview.

“In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces serious allegations of misconduct,” the statement read.

“This does not mean the allegations against the officer have been substantiated.”
