THEY have been delivered just in time to transport keen footy fans to watch history in the making at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.
Four state-of-the-art TransLink buses hit the streets this week and will ferry people to the sold-out first North Queensland Cowboys home game tomorrow.
The new buses are the first of 20 ordered to replace the old bus fleet. It is the first time in 15 years new buses have been added to the Townsville fleet.

Member for Townsville Scott Stewart encouraged locals to enjoy the new purchases.
“It is fantastic seeing these new buses arrive just in time for the Cowboys versus Broncos game, our biggest game of the year,” he said.
“We want to make sure we provide the best opportunities for transport when it comes to people getting to and from the game … and develop that culture of public transport.”
Free buses to the stadium will run every 30 minutes from the Townsville Showground. It is part of a 12-month trial that started at the Stadium Open Day last month.
Mayor Jenny Hill was impressed with the new deliveries.
“These buses are brand new with low emissions and are airconditioned,” she said. “The owners of Sunbus are really stepping up and are getting on board to really improve public transport in the city.”
