Massive new 4WD Supacentre to open in Townsville

A huge 1000sq m four wheel drive and camping store will open in Townsville today, marking the expansion of a major brand in regional Queensland.

A huge 1000sq m four wheel drive and camping store will open in Townsville today, marking the expansion of a major brand in regional Queensland.

4WD Supacentre will open its first company owned store on Friday.

Marketing manager Matt Smith said it would be the first store to open in Queensland outside of Brisbane.

“We recognised Townsville has a huge population of outdoor enthusiasts,” he said. Mr Smith said customers could expect prices in the store to be the same as those listed online.

He said there were plans of soon opening similar stores in North Queensland as sales in outdoor gear surges in Queensland which is enjoying more COVID-19 freedoms than southern states.

“We’ve definitely got big plans in expanding,” he said.

Mr Smith said a Mackay store would open in a few weeks while there were plans on opening another in Cairns. The new store on Woolcock Street stocks popular 4WD and camping brand Kings.

Mr Smith said the new store would be complemented with a new distribution store in Garbutt.

“It will mean much faster delivery for online orders and cheaper freight prices for heavier items,” he said.

For the grand opening there will be a 10 per cent off sale.

4WD Supacentre is situated next to Intersport and Salvos Store on Woolcock Street.
