WINDS of up to 30 knots blowing off Townsville’s inshore coast has led to the Bureau of Meteorology issuing a marine wind warning.

Winds are blowing east to south-easterly at speeds of 20 to 25 knots, reaching up to 30 knots this evening the bureau said.

The strong winds have created a haze over The Strand tonight.

Despite the strong winds flocks of people are still enjoying Stable on The Strand.

Strong winds are expected all week.

Winds are forecast to reach up to 30km/h tomorrow morning before becoming light in the evening.

On Friday, Townsville can expect winds of up to 35km/h and 30km/h on Saturday.

The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting winds will ease slightly by Sunday, falling to 20km/h.
