Man trapped in rolled haul-out truck, emergency helicopter sent

A rescue helicopter was called to the scene of a serious haul-out truck rollover in the Burdekin which left the driver trapped inside.

A rescue helicopter was called to the scene of a serious haul-out truck rollover in the Burdekin, which left the driver trapped inside on Thursday morning.

Several fire crews responded to the crash, located near the Cadio Rd and Barratta Rd intersection in the Upper Haughton, which was reported just after 7am.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson confirmed a man estimated to be in his 40s, had been trapped inside a machine.

“He has been freed and is reportedly stable,” they said.

“They are loading him onto the helicopter as we speak.”

The man suffered a lower body injury.

He was flown to Townsville University Hospital just after 8am.
