A MAN has been fined for dragging his partner naked on to the front lawn after an intensive drinking session.
The man, who cannot be named to protect the identity of his victim, had consumed 15-20 beers from 10am on December 23.
The Townsville Magistrates Court heard later that night the woman was dragged on to the lawn by the man. Police prosecutor Liam Wise said the incident was an “act of violence”.
“An argument had started over something trivial, the victim has gone to bed and repeatedly told the defendant to go to sleep,” he said.
“The defendant has continued to verbally berate the victim … before he forcibly dragged her from the bed out the front door into the yard. At the time (the victim) was completely unclothed.”
The court heard the woman did not suffer any injuries.
The man pleaded guilty to breach of a police protection order.
Defence solicitor Ralph Lake said his client had spent the night in the watch house and a fine was in range.
Acting Magistrate Peter Smid fined the man $750.
A conviction was recorded.
