A man has been arrested in Townsville following a major drug investigation, which police claim will have a significant impact on the state’s methylamphetamine supply.

A man has been arrested in Townsville following a major drug investigation, which police claim will have a significant impact on the state’s methylamphetamine supply.
Detectives from Whitsunday Criminal Investigation Branch and officers from Mackay Tactical Operations Team and Rockhampton Drug Squad closed the investigation last week, seizing drugs, cash and a rifle.
Six search warrants were executed which resulted in the arrest of a 24-year-old man allegedly linked to numerous property offences across Mackay, the Whitsundays and Bowen between February and June.

Police also found an allegedly stolen Toyota Prado and caravan as the man was taken into custody in Townsville.
The man was charged with 51 offences, including multiple counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, stealing, fraud, possession of drugs and enter premises and commit indictable offence by break.
He is due to reappear in Townsville Magistrates Court on July 9.
Five other people have been charged with 66 offences following the investigation.
Whitsunday CIB officer-in-charge Detective Sergeant Luke Scells said the major drug operation would have a significant impact on the availability and supply of methylamphetamine in not only the Mackay area, but across Queensland.
