The owner of a popular and trendy suburban coffee shop is doubling her caffeine output.
Bec Maisey, owner of Little Pegs, has plans on opening a small coffee outlet in a florist in the CBD this week.
The coffee shop will be called Bloom Espresso and takes over from Stripes Coffee, which was operated by Holly Thompson and opened late last year at St Floral florist in the Strand Emporium at 202 Flinders St.

The florist is run by local self-taught floral designers Taylor Jensen and Claire Schlothauer.
“Basically the girls told me to take over the space after Holly closed down,” Ms Maisey said.
“I’m aiming for Thursday (to open), all things going well.”
Ms Maisey said that Blooms Espresso would be a “very stripped back” version of Little Pegs, initially just selling drinks.
“I will be focusing on coffee. I will be looking at adding food down the line,” she said.
Stripes Coffee continues to operate at the bottom of Castle Hill in West End.
