A POPULAR city restaurant will experiment with menu items at its newest outlet.

Owner of Korean restaurant Zizigo, Sera Shin, recently opened a smaller outlet at Fairfield Central following the surge in popularity in its takeaway options during the COVID-19 pandemic at flagship store in City Lane.

Ms Shin said new additions to the menu will soon include Korean barbecue options at the smaller store, which opened last month.

“Many people don’t know about Korean food, it’s new customer range (near Fairfield) and will be really good to introduce them to it,” she said.

“In the future we will sell Korean and Asian bubble tea.”

Ms Shin said the popularity of takeaway options rose dramatically over the past few months as COVID-19 forced restrictions on restaurants.

She said a smaller array of options were available at the new store, which had five tables available if customers chose to dine in instead of order take away.

Other new menu items include kimchi pajeon, a savoury pancake, and a variety of gimbap — Korean-style sushi rolls — alongside regular favourites, bento boxes and bibimbaps. The Zizigo Easygo store is located outside Coles and open seven days a week.
