Candice Smith gets through about 1kg of Nutella every week.
The owner and head chef at busy cafe Me, Myself and Coffee is whipping up banana Nutella jaffles – a special take on their basic toastie – to celebrate World Nutella Day today.
She’s been the brains of the kitchen at the North Ward cafe since last year and said her original creation was a twist on an Australian favourite.
“Our Nutella jaffle is more like nutty, fruity magic in your mouth and it’s all thanks to the famous spread,” she said.
“It tastes really good and it is easy to use and combines well with a lot of flavours, just like bananas.”
Not surprisingly, the busy mum-of-two said her son and daughter both loved Nutella.
“I reckon if I put the jar down they would eat it all together,” she said.
“I might let them have some Nutella (today) if they behave.”
Ms Smith said she was expecting the cafe would go through about a whole jar of Nutella today.
