A LATE night car crash at a notorious hoon hot spot has left Kirwan residents fearing for their safety.
At 11.30pm last night a white dual cab ute crashed into the front garden of Lesley Williams’ daughter’s home on Tibarri St.
Ms Williams said in the 15 years her daughter had lived at the address, it was the fifth time a car had lost control hooning around the corner of Nonda St on to Tibarri St.
Ms Williams said she had just gone to bed when she heard a “hell of a bang”.
“I saw someone in the yard jumping the fence so I turned all the lights on and let the dogs out and then they all scattered,” she said.
“I found a pair of thongs out the back and I reckon they belong to a girl and she was in a hoodie and there was at least four of them.”
Ms Williams said the white ute’s bonnet was wrapped around the palm tree which snapped in half.

The ute was towed away at approximately 1am this morning.
Rhonda Ross, who lives on the street, said she was sleeping when she heard a “big bang”.
“I saw two cars and they had bumped into the tree and there was a lot of smoke and one sped down the road and took off, yelling out, he’s all right, he’s OK,” she said.
Ms Ross said she immediately called the police and while the assailants fled the scene, running through her next door neighbour’s property to jump the back fence.
She said she caught a glimpse of the people, who were dressed in black hoodies.
She has been living in the same house for 18 years and said crime had ramped up in the street in the last couple of years.
“We have a two year old and a four year old here and other kids in the street play along here and it is not safe for them and it needs to stop,” Ms Ross said.
“It is disgusting beyond words and I don’t feel safe.”
Police are investigating the incident.
No one has been charged.
