A manhunt is underway for an armed robber who pulled a gun on a driver in Ingham and forced him to transfer over a “significant sum of money” before stealing his car.

Ingham’s criminal investigation branch is investigating an armed robbery that took place near Cemetery Rd, Ingham about 4.10am on Saturday

Police said a 35-year-old man had been sitting in his car when a 28-year-old man — who was known to him — approached and allegedly brandished a hand gun.

Initial investigations suggest the suspect then forced the man to transfer a “significant sum of money” to him electronically.

He then took the victim’s keys, phone, wallet and vehicle, a silver Mazda BT50 dual cab, in which he fled the scene.

The suspect’s whereabouts are unknown at this stage, with the criminal investigation branch in Ingham is conducting further investigations to determine where he might be.

It’s understood the 28-year-old is an Ingham resident.
