An iconic North Queensland fruit store will be transformed into a retro car lovers paradise with rev heads hitting the highway to visit the Mango Man.
Frosty Mango on the Bruce Highway will host its second car show this Sunday at 10am with up to 70 car enthusiasts popping the hood on their historical and custom cars.
Business owner of 31 years Heidi Poefinger said the day was an opportunity to unite Townsville and surrounding car lovers to show off their pride and joy.
“We are very excited to be holding the car show and the most important thing is we hope the sun is shining,” she said.
“People can come along and show off their beautiful cars and hopefully at the same time everyone will come and enjoy an ice-cream.”
Cyclones Rod and Custom Car Club Townsville secretary Bernadette Cooper said she would be making the pilgrimage to Frosty Mango.
“It will be great to be able to chill and catch up with like minded people at Frosty Mango after our car shows were cancelled because of coronavirus,” she said.
“We are going to trial this weekend and we are hoping to organise a bigger run at Frosty Mango later on in the year.”
Ms Cooper said she would be attending the event with her husband Jeff Cooper to share their black XW Falcon with the crowd.
