Two female patients needed to be freed by emergency services after they were involved in a rollover on a North Queensland highway.

Emergency services were called to the single crash on the Flinders Hwy at Oak Valley shortly after 2.30pm on Friday.

A Queensland Ambulance Service said three patients were assessed by paramedics, including two females with head and shoulder injuries.

A third male patient reported no injuries.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said firefighters were worked to free the two female patients.

The crash blocked two lanes of the highway and delayed traffic for more than an hour.

The crash happened near the intersection of Valley Dr.

All three patients were taken to Townsville University Hospital in a stable condition.
