Excited caravanners Peter and Laurel Clothier made the most of easing travel restrictions, hitting the road north for a beachside escape.
The Burdell couple have been venturing to the Rollingstone Beach Front Resort for about 20 years in what started out as a family holiday and evolved into a yearly getaway.

Mr Clothier said he was relieved to be able to travel again after Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk opened up the state for the first time since the COVID-19 lockdown, booking a four-day stay at the popular caravan park.
Rollingstone Beach Front Resort manager Mick Waite the winter season had been “decimated”.
“We’re still getting cancellations with people from Melbourne and other states,” he said.
Mr Waite said grey nomad travellers typically frequented the park in winter but the state bubble had prevented many from heading to North Queensland.
Although he said many people from Townsville also visited and he was inundated with bookings following the Premier’s announcement.
