A newly reopened Domino’s fast-food pizza outlet servicing the wider Townsville suburb of Kirwan is looking for a minimum of 10 new employees to fill a range of roles.

Domino’s compliance manager Jessica Snelson said the restaurant had opened earlier this month after it suspended operations for five weeks when it was forced to relocate due to the sale of the Sunland Plaza in Thuringowa Central.

She said that thanks to Colliers Townsville, owners Nathan and Nicole van Jole – part of a franchisee group operating 23 Domino’s across Queensland – had secured the lease of the perfectly located new premises next to Subway at 12 Hervey Range Road.

“The new venue is great; the other tenants are very welcoming of us joining the existing development,” she said.

“It’s a new, bright store in a great location on the roadside with great parking.”

In addition to Subway, Domino’s joins a number of food outlets at the prime location, including Townsville Charcoal Chicken, Rickshaw Chinese and Galactic Donuts.

Ms Snelson said the location and complimenting businesses meant people or families on the go had a mouth-watering array of dining options at the one handy location.

“It’s perfect, if our customers are seeking different desert options, for example, we are next to Galactic Donuts a couple of stores down.”

She said business was good, having bounced back from a post-Covid decline, and currently employed 22 people.

“We’re on the hunt for new employees at the moment, obviously being closed for five-and-a-half weeks we unfortunately had to say goodbye to a fair few number of people.”

She said the business was looking to make at least 10 new hires, which was good news for local jobseekers and the local economy.

“We’re looking for in-store team members, some delivery drivers and we’ve even got opportunities for shift running or management prospects in the future.”

Colliers Townsville commercial and industrial executive Shaun McLaren helped secure the new lease.

“This is a great outcome for Kirwan to see Domino’s investing in a new store for the area,” he said.

“This location will give them great exposure and ample parking so it should be an ideal spot for them moving forward.”
