PERC Tucker Regional Gallery is taking the Krispy Kreme to a ‘hole’ new level with unique gooey and sticky school holiday fun.

The Ken Done-nut Shop is a free interactive workshop that allows kids to roll, sculpt and glaze their own doughnut made out of paper-based clay.

Kids are then able to personally decorate their own sweet treat to take home using metallic pens, glitter, sprinkles and beads.

The pop-up workshop was inspired by Australian artist Ken Done’s roving art exhibition, Paintings You Probably Haven’t Seen, that is on show at the gallery until February. Perc Tucker Regional Gallery gallery assistant Chloe Lindow said the workshop would be a new experience for children.

“(Kids) get to use the paper-based clay that we have got from Melbourne so it might not be something they have used in the classroom or at home before,” she said.

“So they get to have a play with that and feel the different texture of it and it is really easy to colour in.”

Ms Lindow said the holiday workshops were an opportunity for children and adults to enjoy art together.

“It is great having kids come into the gallery to see the exhibitions and it is good having families come in for the holidays and they get to meet other kids and families who are out for the holidays too,” she said.

The Ken Done-nut shop will be open from January 13-17 from 10am to midday.
