A dead crocodile washed up on a North Queensland beach having “stuck his snout in the wrong pot”.

A dead crocodile washed up on a North Queensland beach having “stuck his snout in the wrong pot”.
The deceased reptile was snapped by Hinchinbrook MP Nick Dametto and could be seen with orange netting, evidently from a crab pot it had tried to get into, wrapped around its jaw.
“Hope you’re having a better day than him,” Mr Dametto quipped.
The Katter’s Australian Party politician has been outspoke over the state government’s crocodile management policy.

“Unfortunately, we have a situation where bureaucrats in Brisbane seem to put the life of a dangerous, overpopulated animal above that of human beings and their pets,” he said.
His comments as a problem crocodile was reported to the Department of Environment and Science for reportedly attacking dogs at Black River.
The problem croc was euthanised earlier this month.
