Townsville universities will be stopping on-campus classes in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
CQUniversity and James Cook University announced as of Monday, March 23 on-campus lectures and tutorials will be switched to online for the remainder of the first term.
CQU vice-chancellor Nick Klomp said the transition would minimise disruption to students’ learning and was done so in preparation for increased social distancing requirements.
“Our campuses and contact centre will be open and operate as normal with the full range of student and academic support services still on offer. Likewise, students will still be able to visit our libraries and use computer labs and other campus facilities,” Prof Klomp said.
