Cowboys star Semi Valemei’s stolen white Audi was set on fire by thieves after his home in Townsville was broken into overnight.
Police are investigating after the winger’s white 2017 Audi Q2 station wagon was stolen from a home in North Ward around midnight on Monday.
Residents found one his number plates dumped on the grass at Soroptimist Park in Belgian Gardens along with a stolen orange dirt bike early on Tuesday morning.
Witnesses at the scene reported seeing a group of “young boys” unloading the bike from the back of white Audi that had its windows smashed out.
Shortly after that the stolen Audi was located with the interior burnt out along the Dalrymple Service Rd in Heatley about 6.30am.
In a post on a local Facebook group, Townsville Stolen Cars, Valemei confirmed that the stolen Audi had been his car.
“Thanks Townsville that’s my car,” he wrote, accompanied with a crying emoji.
It comes after another stolen car — a silver Haval — was also located burnt out at Reid Park in Railway Estate this morning.
Investigations are ongoing. No charges have been laid at this stage.
